Theologyology Podcast Ep 2

Theologyologyology

(This was originally published at

and is being reposted as we migrate our episodes to this space.)

We had so much fun, we decided to keep going! My co-host

Elise Keller

and I talk about why we decided to do this, specifically, but also why we think this type of discourse is important and beneficial, in general.

We mentioned several books in this episode, including Living Like Monks, Praying Like Fools by Tyler Staton, The Unseen Realm by Dr. Michael Heiser (both of which we should probably just link permanently), The Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis, including Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra (which I mispronounced in the recording), and That Hideous Strength, and of course The F*** It Diet and Tired as F*** by Caroline Dooner.

Speaking of Caroline, we talked a lot about her Problematic Substack (that’s what it’s called, not an editorial comment on my part) and Book Club, which you really ought to check out, as well as her podcast episode with Kara Mosher and though we didn’t mention it by name, her Substack article New Age Demons was instrumental in the phenomenon that we discussed.

The video of this recording is also available here!

Thanks for your patience as we work out some technical kinks and stretch our podcasting muscles. We look forward to revisiting these topics as we learn.

Love,

Elizabeth and Elise

PS We forgot show notes last week! The book we referred to in Episode 1 was one I also mentioned today: “Living Like Monks, Praying Like Fools” by Tyler Staton, who is also the pastor at Bridgetown Church in Portland Oregon, and the National Director of 24-7 Prayer USA.

We talk about theology, but we aren't theologians. We are here for discussions and thought experiments with occasional conclusions, but mostly we marvel at the complexity and mystery of the triune God.
